Design architecture committee, an initiative by the students of the Academy of Architecture to provide support for those who want to participate in various projects, competitions, and workshops and explore the field of architecture.

First year Orientation 2025

The orientation marked the first page of a new chapter - where creativity met curiosity. Our first-year students stepped into the world of architecture by designing newspaper outfits inspired by chosen characters, embodying the very essence of storytelling through form and expression. It was a celebration of imagination, collaboration, and the joy of beginning something extraordinary.

What if workspaces could float above nature instead of replacing it?
Set within Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Racecourse, this thesis reimagines how we build in contested urban landscapes. While debates continue over theme parks versus preservation, this project proposes a third path: elevated co-working environments that honor what already exists.
The concept is simple yet radical. Only essential cores touch the earth. Everything else hovers, allowing the site's magnificent trees and natural terrain to breathe below.
Three worlds coexist: professionals working above, visitors moving through toward public green space, and century-old trees standing undisturbed.
This is architecture as negotiation between growth and preservation, density and openness, ambition and respect. A model that exemplifies how architecture can serve as a bridge between innovation and ecological preservation.

Semester 10 | Architectural Thesis

In today’s hyper-connected era, cities are consumed as digital spectacles, where architecture is commodified through social media aesthetics and economic profitability rather than cultural authenticity. This thesis examines Mumbai as a “digital wallpaper,” focusing on heritage precincts where facadism preserves façades while hollowing out cultural and social life. Once vibrant communities have been reimagined as Instagrammable backdrops, curated for tourism and neoliberal urbanism. The study interrogates this loss of cultural fabric and proposes a sustainable economic model that uses media as a tool to recycle and revitalize heritage precincts on the verge of redevelopment.

Rooted in empathy and cultural diversity from Bihar to Odisha.
Private spaces honor family rituals,common spaces foster shared identity.
Co-created with workers, it centers women, children, and the displaced.
This is not just about building better homes.It’s about building a more adaptable and humane society

Semester 10 | Architectural Thesis

In today’s fast-paced urban environment, amusement parks provide essential recreational escapes, fostering joy, connection, and lasting memories. This thesis explores strategies to make amusement parks more inclusive and engaging by addressing diverse age groups, interests, and abilities. Emphasis is placed on integrating modern technology—such as virtual reality, interactive exhibits, and advanced queue systems—to enhance visitor experiences, alongside design approaches like sensory-friendly spaces and adaptive attractions for accessibility. The study also highlights the social and economic impact of well-designed parks, which stimulate local economies, support communities, and enrich urban life. Ultimately, it advocates a reimagined model of amusement parks as inclusive, technologically innovative, and vibrant community spaces.
