New Year, New Beginnings- It comes with its own set of changes, challenges and opportunities. You want to prepare yourself mentally and physically, to be able to enjoy each of the emotions that this year might bring you. However, we are often so focused on thinking about the possibilities of what is going to happen or what has already happened, that we forget to look at the little and profound joys that we are surrounded with everyday. The year starts with a high of resolutions, but sometimes we end up getting frustrated and angry because of all the things that we missed out on. Eventually, it’s a rabbit hole where everything seems to fall apart and it seems as if there is no way out of the misery. The best thing to do in such a situation is to pause and experience the present moment exactly the way it is. The color of the sky will never be the same again, and neither will you. So look around and smile with the biggest goofy grin you possibly can.
Like Hozier (an Irish singer and songwriter) says in his song ‘Someone New’-
“Would things be easier if there was a right way? Honey, there is no right way.”
This new year, let’s make a conscious effort to observe all the beautiful things that the world has to offer, and remember to take out the time to do the things that make YOU happy!
